Position
An opportunity has arisen for a permanent full-time Healthcare Administrator to support professional healthcare staff within the healthcare centre establishment in HMP Kilmarnock
Hours
37 hours per week
What You Will Do
This is a diverse role involving the day to day delivery of a high standard of support to the clinical team within HMP Kilmarnock to enable health care to be delivered to a population who have a comprehensive range of physical, psychological, substance misuse and social problems whilst maintaining a high level of awareness of and compliance with security procedures within the prison setting.
Your duties will include providing an efficient, confidential high quality administrative service to healthcare professionals by prioritising workload and ensuring follow up actions are completed timeously dealing with telephone calls from personnel and others staff, relatives and agencies and directly these as necessary to appropriate staff; take responsibility for receiving mail, linking with previous correspondence, taking action when required and facilitating enquiries in the absence of healthcare professionals and maintaining and updating electronic patient records.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job
SVQ Level III in Business Administration / IT, or equivalent, and educated to Standard Grade English or equivalent.
You should also hold a ECDL qualification or recognised IT qualification, and have an understanding of Medical Terminology for this post.
It is essential that you have experience of working with Microsoft Office Packages such as Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint and Outlook.
