Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Therapy Technician to join the Therapy Outpatients Team at South Bristol Community Hospital (SBCH). This is a permanent, part-time post (30 hours per week).
You will support the delivery of Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physiotherapy to outpatients attending for falls & frailty or neuro therapy at SBCH. This post will be supported by the integrated therapy team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and another B4 Therapy Technician.
You will work without direct supervision to deliver therapeutic assessment and intervention with patients in 1:1 and group settings. Your patients will have a mix of conditions as you will be supporting both the Neuro and Falls & Frailty pathways who are based in SBCH. We are a small but supportive team with decades of combined experience! We are looking for a reliable team worker to join the team permanently in order to support us to continue to deliver excellent rehabilitation to our patients.
Main duties of the jobJob Purpose
- Working with both Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists the Technician will assist with the assessment, implementation of treatment programmes and management of patients seen by the outpatient therapy team. Overall responsibility for the therapy management of the patient remains with the registered therapists.
- The post-holder will work under the direct or indirect supervision of a registered therapist and will contribute to the provisionof a comprehensive assessment and rehabilitation service for patients.
- The post holder will deliver a defined range of activities, which will include an element of problemsolving and use of initiativeusually within a written planas part of anintegrated pathway.
