The post holder will Co-ordinate the provision of a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to the South Wales Neuroendocrine Cancer Service.
Do you enjoy working in an exciting and challenging environment? Based at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, we are looking for an experienced and dedicated Service Coordinator to provide essential administrative support to the clinical and medical team in the Neuroendocrine Cancer Service at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
The post holder will Co-ordinate the provision of a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to the South Wales Neuroendocrine Cancer Service. The post holder will meet clerical/administrative service requirements efficiently and effectively. They will manage the patient administration including waiting list and referral management, booking processes, correspondence and maintaining medical records. They will assist in the organisation of workload and provision of performance management information whilst communicating with a wide range of professional staff, patients, relative/carers with tact and diplomacy.
The Service Coordinator is the central point of contact for the service and provides information for patients, including coordinating incoming referrals to the service. The post holder will be required to update and manage the electronic databases with patient information and sending clinic letters to patients and referring clinicians. Previous experience in a similar administrative role plus excellent secretarial and organisational skills will be required.
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate excellent communication skills and IT ability. The post holder must be able to use their own initiative and also work efficiently as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Previous experience in a similar NHS role would be advantageous.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply
This post is fixed term/secondment for 9 months due to maternity cover.
