Band 3 Trainee Healthcare Support worker


  • You will be paid at a Band 2 level, while undertaking educational and clinical competencies to enable you to take on the full range of duties within the Band 3 Job descriptions. Following successful completion of the training program you will progress into the Band 3 pay scale, ideally within 9-12 months of starting.


Band 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker


  • This role is suitable for someone with experience in Health care and or has attained SCQF level 6/7 in a health care related subject. This role encompasses the full duties within the Band 3 Job Description.
  • Super Spotlight on Community Complex Needs, Braidburn School

Exciting opportunities are available to join Complex Needs School Nursing within Braidburn School.

The Complex needs School Nursing Team deliver direct nursing care and health advice to approximately 350 children and young adults with complex health needs (physical/neurological disabilities, visual impairment, emotional difficulties and behavioural disorders) who attend 3 Complex Needs Schools within Edinburgh City and Midlothian and specialist nursing support within East Lothian specialist provision schools.

The Health care support service (HESS) delivers direct care and support on a 1:1 basis for Children and Young people with complex health care conditions attending Schools Nurseries and Early Years Centres across Lothian. This provision includes nursery, primary and secondary aged pupils.

Working Hours are Monday – Friday during term time and are between 8-4:30pm with shorter days on a Friday.


Key Requirements


SCQF LEVEL 7 in a related subject – or working towards Good basic educational qualifications

  • Ability to take responsibility and work without supervision on a daily basis
  • Willing to travel to schools throughout Lothian

Following successful interview all roles will have Induction and a 12 week probation period, where full support will be given.
