Outpatient Breast Clinic Sister – Full time 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic senior nurse to join the Breast Care clinic team in the Nightingale Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital.

The role includes efficient clinic co-ordination duties, managing patients in a dedicated dressing’s clinic, and providing clinical support to the surgical and radiological teams in the one-stop triple assessment clinics. The post holder will also have managerial responsibilities pertaining to visible clinical leadership, supporting the manager in delivering the functions of the senior role including absence management and deputising in their absence, supporting the IQP project and contributing to governance processes within the unit.

A calm, diplomatic and caring approach is necessary and the candidate should have the ability to deal with the varied and challenging demands of the unit. The post holder should also have the ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure as well as communicate and work collaboratively within a large multi-disciplinary team.

This clinical role involves providing holistic nursing care in both our Consultant and nurse led clinics, knowledge of breast care is therefore desirable.

The successful candidate will be part of a team of clinical breast nurses who are central to the delivery of high level of patient care within the multiple breast clinics which also includes facilitating asceptic procedures within a radiological setting.

You will also be expected to manage our daily post op/acute dressings clinics, assessing and implementing care plans, therefore knowledge of acute and chronic wounds is essential.
