Position
An opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Support Worker based at Ayrshire Maternity Unit, University Hospital Crosshouse.
What You Will Do
As a Band 3 support worker in maternity and neonatal care service you will support the midwives and staff nurses to deliver care to women and babies throughout the service. In addition you will ensure that stock levels of all supplies are maintained and performs housekeeping duties, to support the smooth running of the clinical area. This includes ensuring that effective infection control policies and procedures are adhered to by all staff, women, partners and visitors.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job
In addition the role includes undertaking the decontamination of furnishings and equipment used in all clinical areas is pivotal to the smooth, safe and effective delivery of all services. Within neonatal services this will include the cleaning of neonatal equipment such as cots, incubators, phototherapy units etc.
Within all services inclusive of the neonatal unit you will assigned duties involving direct care of women and their babies and in neonatal services the low risk / well neonate within the Special Care area.
You should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, a flexible approach to working and multi-disciplinary team working.
