An excellent training opportunity has arisen for a clinical fellow to join the Cardiac Surgery department at St Georges University Hospital.

The post holder will work alongside ten registrars and join six members of junior medical staff. The unit has eight consultants.

The Unit prides itself on providing first class teaching and training for its junior staff and medical students. There are teaching sessions or MDMs every morning of the week. In outpatients, juniors are encouraged to assess new patients, and in theatres they are supported and encouraged, substantially increasing their operative experience.

  • Caring for inpatients and outpatients
  • Attendance in Cardiac Theatre
  • 1:10 on call
  • The individual is expected to take an active part in all the departmental academic audit meetings.
  • The post holder will, along with Consultant and registrar colleagues, contribute to the provision of Cardiac Surgical services to St George's University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, including;
  • diagnosis and treatment of patients of the Trust in such hospitals, clinics or other premises as is required.
  • continuing clinical responsibility for the patients in his/her care.
