Health Care Assistant

Location: York, North Yorkshire

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £83 - £100 per day

Contract: Full Time

York, North Yorkshire
.

Ideal applicants should have knowledge of additional needs and linked behaviours, such as Autism, Learning Difficulties, ADHD and GDD. Being able to communicate well with school leaders, parents and carers is essential.


Health Care Assistant Requirements


  • NVQ Healthcare or an equivalent degree, or proof of having worked in a healthcare environment.
  • Understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and experience working with students with diverse learning needs such as Autism, ADHD and SEMH.
  • Experience in a healthcare role, preferably with children or young people with SEN.
  • Relevant qualifications in healthcare, youth work, social work, education, or a related field.
  • Have an Enhanced Child Only DBS registered to the update service, or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education


Health Care Assistant Responsibilities


  • Providing personal care and assistance to students with medical and physical needs.
  • Deliver high quality care whilst ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for children.
  • Working in partnership with the SENCO to work towards achieving EHCP outcomes.
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and medical professionals to create comprehensive care plans.
  • Maintaining regular communication with parents or guardians, providing updates on student progress, and involving them in decision-making processes.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and develop individualised support plans.
