We are looking for a GP receptionist to join our friendly practice team based at Greenside Surgery.
To provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors either in person or via the telephone.
You should enjoy working in a busy and challenging environment. Have good customer service and computer skills. Knowledge of SystmOne and working in a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential.
The ideal person should be confident and dynamic to greet patients and answer telephones in a professional and courteous manner, direct calls, take messages and provide a first-class service to patients of the practice.
Main duties:
Opening and closing the premises
Monitoring the Practice appointments system.
Receiving patients on arrival in a courteous and efficient manner
Courteously deal with all general enquiries, explaining surgery procedures, making new and follow-up appointments over the telephone or with direct patient contact
Care Navigation to signpost patients to receive the best care
Issuing repeat prescriptions, sending electronic prescriptions, also sending tasks with prescription queries to Dr s for action
Receiving messages and liaising with Drs, Nurses, Pharmacists, and other attached staff
Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail.
Maintain files of administrative information, reports, correspondence, photocopying of medical records as required and insurance documents
To support and assist all members of the practice team, to help provide a well organised office and reception in the practice, making effective use of resources available
To maintain strict confidentiality at all times and be aware of health and safety / fire procedures
To undertake any training necessary to keep up to date with current policies and procedures
Flexible to work extra to cover for holidays, sickness and other absences
Willingness to adopt and contribute to new processes
Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the partners or the practice manager

Reporting potential risks identified
