We at University Hospital Sussex have lots of opportunity for you across our trust. We run seven hospitals across Sussex. 2023 saw us open new buildings in the Royal Sussex County Hospital, which allowed us to provide modern facilities for patients and staff in more than 40 wards and departments. The minimum part time hours for this role are 23 hours per week.


  • To assist patients to carry out personal care including meeting hygiene, nutrition and continence needs.
  • To assist patient to mobilise where appropriate.
  • Taking and recording of temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, height and weight on instruction from the qualified nurse. Recording the results appropriately and reporting any abnormalities to the Nurse or Nurse in Charge.
  • Testing specimens and recording the results.
  • Under the supervision of the qualified nurse, support patients undergoing clinical procedures ensuring their comfort and safety
  • To restock departmental areas as required reporting any shortages to the NiC/Ward Manager
