An excellent opportunity has arisen on The Children's Ward at North Manchester General Hospital for a confident, compassionate, and clinically credible nurse to join our dedicated team. We are seeking a Band 6 Paediatric nurse with significant experience at Band 5 within the field of General Paediatrics.
The Children's Ward consists of a 21 Inpatient beds and cares for a variety of specialties. The main patient workload is general medical patients and these can require low acuity care to high dependency stabilisation care.
Alongside our medical patients you will be joining a team who can provide high level care to patient requiring surgical intervention both as emergency care and planned through elective list ran on a weekly basis. In addition to caring for CYP who require mental health support and safeguarding interventions.
The successful candidate will support a team of registered and non-registered nurses and will work alongside the Ward Manager and Practice Educator with a particular focus on:
- Leadership and professional role modelling through complex communication, challenging practice as required and celebrating achievement as is it occurs.
- Supporting the Ward Manager to ensure quality, safety and patient experience.
You'll act as an experienced preceptor and be competent in skills such as IV administration and caring for HDU level patients. Whilst been able to charge of a busy clinical area and support safe patient flow through out the NMGH Paediatric footprint.
The role requires the successful candidate to demonstrate good leadership, organisational and problem solving skills. You will be committed to improving quality of care and the patient experience. You'll provide visible clinical leadership and professionalism as you help the Ward Manager to ensure the core values and beliefs of the ward, the directorate, the division and the Trust are delivered at all times.
