The post holder will provide an effective administration support service providing excellent communication skills and good customer care.

Working within a small friendly team , overseen by the pre assessment manager to deliver an excellent service for patients awaiting elective surgery.

Please note this post will be required to work across both Shrewsbury and Telford sites.

  • Working in close liaison with consultants, theatre bookings and medical secretary’s to ensure pre-assessment administration is undertaken in a timely manner.
  • The post holder will liaise with patients and GP’s to ensure all relevant results of tests are returned to the department within set time frames.
  • Ensure all information data is kept secure and is correctly recorded in the appropriate area
  • Ensure all incoming enquiries are handled promptly and are managed appropriately.
  • Prepare all patient records and any administrative requirements in relation to pre-assessment clinics and in-patient records
  • Maintain a good knowledge of available patient services, bookings and billing processes to ensure patient enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Undertake a wide range of work procedures using complex or sensitive information.
  • Liaise with the Senior Sister and nursing staff within the clinical areas regarding any significant issues that may impact on the efficient running of the department.
