FULL TIME, FIXED TERM POST - 1 YEAR CONTRACT


This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, dynamic and professional Assistant Psychologist to join Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust to become part of the Paediatric Psychology team.

The post holder is expected to be eligible for membership the British Psychological Society at Graduate Basis for Registration having achieved either a 2:1 honours degree, or higher, in psychology or having completed a British Psychological Society accredited psychology conversion course.

You will be joining a small, friendly and supportive team, working closely with Paediatric colleagues and with strong links with colleagues from Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust providing mental health and community services.

The post holder will assist qualified psychologists in the delivery of a Mental Health Pilot for children and young people with epilepsy and as such will be working closely with the Royal Berkshire Hospital Paediatric Epilepsy multi-disciplinary team.

We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative and self-reflexive individual with a passion for working creatively and collaboratively with children and young people with health conditions and their families, carers, networks and medical teams. The ideal candidate will be organised, and self-motivated and will enjoy the challenge of working in a busy paediatric department.

The post holder will assist qualified psychologists in the delivery of a Mental Health Pilot for children and young people with epilepsy. This will involve;

  • Undertaking a protocol based psychological assessment of children and young people with epilepsy.
  • Administration and scoring of standardised questionnaire-based assessments.
  • Collating and presenting clinical patient data.
  • Undertaking protocol-based interventions with children and young people with epilepsy.
  • Collating and inputting clinical outcome data.
  • Setting up and maintaining databases to support the delivery of the Pilot.
  • Data analysis.
  • Contributing to audits, service evaluation, research, training, consultation.
