We are looking for a dynamic and positive individual to join the Neuroradiology team here at National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. The successful candidate will be required to provide data validation support and guidance to all staff on all aspects of 18 Week RTT/6-week diagnostic performance and the Trust’s Patient Access Policy Management.

We are looking for someone with a “can-do” attitude who is confident in decision making, self-motivated and has the ability to produce and manipulate accurate reports. The post holder will be required to build and sustain relationships with a multidisciplinary team and help to develop their understanding of 18 Week RTT performance metrics and pathways.

A key part of the role will be familiarity with Microsoft Excel & Power BI software, in addition to demonstrating the ability to populate spreadsheets using advanced formulas. Familiarity with Trust’s Electronic Health Records System (EPIC) is also desirable for the role.

The post holder will be a pathway validator dedicated to the Lysholm Department of Neuroradiology with an objective to accurately track patient pathways and manage waiting times. The validator will work alongside colleagues in Neuroradiology, outpatient and surgical admissions teams. They will work under guidance and be managed by the Administration Team Leader and Neuroradiology Operations Manager.

  • To ensure appropriate and accurate recording of 6-week pathways within Neuroradiology as per the 6-week RTT Clock Rules.
  • The post holder will be responsible for detailed validation of both inpatient and outpatient pathways adhering to Referral to Treatment (RTT) waiting times and in accordance to Department of Health RTT guidelines. Specific emphasis on the 6-week diagnostic targets as it relates to Neuroradiology.
  • To ensure appropriate and accurate recording of RTT pathways in accordance to 6-week diagnostic Clock Rules and Local patient access policy.
  • To assess, analyse, interpret and adjust information recorded on the Trust’s main EHRS system for the purpose of ensuring transparent accuracy of data throughout patient pathway.
  • To liaise with relevant staff to obtain information needed to appropriately validate pathways in accordance with 6-week diagnostic Clock Rules. To communicate back to Divisional Management Teams where management action is required to sort pathway issues.
