Key Duties & Responsibilities:-
You will assist and support the Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine and work as part of the prosthetic team in the safe and effective management of prosthetic patients.

You will be responsible for the co-ordination of care, through appropriate professional practice, delegation and supervision of duties carried out by junior staff
You will ensure appropriate prescription and treatment is delivered based on assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care to meet patient needs in accordance with agreed local and National standards, evidence-based guidelines and decision making.
You will proactively managerisk and maintainpatient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines, and ensure that the environment of treatment is safe, well equipped and compliant with standards for hygiene and cleanliness.
You will set,monitor and maintain standards of treatment/provision to improve the patient experience and outcome of care.

We require a flexible, dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our amputee rehabilitation team, who will play a key role in the delivery of high quality treatment and care to patients.
You will provide clinical, scientific and advisory services to patients for their rehabilitation by restoration, using prosthetics, within key areas of upper and lower limb amputation or deficiency due to a variety of causes including Congenital Deficiency, Diabetes, Orthopaedic, Vascular and Trauma cases.
Preston Specialist Mobility Rehabilitation Centre (SMRC) is part of the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The SMRC is a regional Centre, providing Prosthetic, Orthotic, Wheelchair and Specialist Seating services throughout Lancashire, South Cumbria and beyond.
We are one of 9 centres that were awarded Specialist War Veteran Centre status with the associated Specialist facilities (e.g. high specification rehabilitation exercise area).
The Centre has a truly multidisciplinary team including; Consultant in Amputee Rehabilitation, Prosthetists, Prosthetic Technicians, Orthotists, Psychologist, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nursing Team, Assistant Practitioners, Physical Training Instructor and Administration Teams.

You will undertake detailed assessments in collaboration with the Centre's Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to produce personalised care plans, facilitating provision of clinically suitable, prosthetic limb prescriptions (clinical/technical) for amputees and patients with congenital limb absence. In addition, you will be clinically responsible for the provision of treatment of patients under the supervision of Senior Prosthetists.
