The post holder will provide an effective and efficient secretarial and business support administrative service to the Team. The post holder will be expected to work with the minimum of supervision and co-ordinate their activities with the members of the Team in order that an efficient service is provided. The post holder will be expected to spend periods of time working unaccompanied and under their own initiative. The post holder will carry out the duties in such a way as to make a direct and positive contribution to the organisation of the work and to assist the Team to maximise the most effective use of their time. It is essential that the post holder exercise initiative commensurate with the role and vital that confidentiality is maintained at all times. The role will involve a mixture of home and office based working. The role may involve evening and weekend work.

To provide a full range of high quality business support to the service.
First point of contact on the telephone, providing support to Service Users and other health care professionals.
To assist in general reception duties including assisting service users and carers with general enquiries when necessary.
To be responsible for booking assessment appointments for service users by telephone and recording information accurately, using the Choose & Book system and by self referral.
Liaise with all staff concerned with patient services, including communication with General Practitioners, service users and carers and other services that have a legitimate interest in the work of the Clinical Business Unit and deal with enquiries by letter, fax, email, telephone and/or in person
Make or change appointments on behalf of the Team and ensure that relevant documentation is available.
Ensure that efficient communications between the Team and other relevant agencies are maintained.
To assist the business support team in addressing any data quality issues.
Undertake general office duties e.g. photocopying, distribution of documents.
