Aneurin Leisure is committed to promoting active and healthy lifestyles within our community. We manage a range of sports and recreation facilities and are seeking a dedicated Recreation Assistant to join our team on a fixed-term basis to cover sickness leave, this will be covered by x2 posts of 15 hours per week.


Role Overview


As a Recreation Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our sports centres during this temporary period. Your responsibilities will include supervising all areas within the facility, ensuring cleanliness and security, and delivering excellent customer service. You will also assist with fitness inductions, support income-generating activities, and help enhance the overall customer experience.


Key Responsibilities


  • Supervise and manage all areas within the sports centre, including poolside.
  • Maintain the security and cleanliness of the facility.
  • Provide guidance and instruction on equipment usage to members of the public.
  • Deliver outstanding customer care and uphold Aneurin Leisure's professional standards.
  • Support the development of a performance and sales-driven culture among staff.
  • Participate in required training, appraisals, and work reviews.


What We Are Looking For


  • Essential:
    • 3 GCSEs (Grades A-C) or equivalent.
    • Current RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
    • Strong customer care skills.
    • Commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle.
    • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Desirable:
    • BTEC Diploma in Sports and Fitness.
    • Experience in the leisure industry.
    • Welsh language skills.

Additional Information:
