Are you a neonatal nurse who is ready to take the next steps in their neonatal career?

Would you like to be part of a neonatal team who works tirelessly, to provide comprehensive, compassionate, individualised care and support to our babies and their families, which are then realised in the outstanding outcomes we achieve for our babies (NNAP 2023).

Portsmouth Hospitals Neonatal Intensive Care Unit are excited to be able to expand their senior nursing team and have vacancies for experienced registered neonatal nurses.

We would welcome applications from experienced Neonatal nurses, with a recognised qualified in speciality neonatal intensive care qualification who are looking to take the next steps in their neonatal nursing career.

Working on a Level 3 Bliss accredited tertiary neonatal intensive care unit you would experience caring for some of the most complex and pioneering medical care, including total body cooling, HFOV, Nitric Oxide Therapy and Laser ROP. You will also have access to extended role development in retrieval and neonatal life support, alongside rotational opportunities in Neonatal Outreach, Family Integrated and developmental care, Infant feeding, Education and Research teams.

Qualifications


  • Current RN +/- RN, registration with NMC and any other relevant post registration qualifications.
  • BSc Degree in relevant field (Desirable - Masters degree and evidence of working towards).
  • Significant demonstrable experience within specialty in level 3 NICU with evidence of professional development.
  • Post Reg. qualifications for specialty area (QIS).
  • Leadership development programme.
  • Teaching qualification /experience and accredited NMC before mentorship course.
  • Evidence of team leadership and change management with relevant management/leadership course.
  • Managing resources and contributing to departmental budget.
  • Evidence of developing policy, guidelines and managing resources.
