The Day Surgery Centre is at the forefront of surgical services. It is an efficient patient environment collaborating across all surgicalservices to deliver a high level of care to all our patients.

The post holder is required to meet and greet patients providing a reception service, To support and assist all staff with administration duties,locate and prepare medical records. This is an exciting role front of house, working closely with clinical colleagues to ensure our patients receive the highest standard of care.

  1. Works as part of a clerical team to provide support to the Day Surgery Service.
  2. Communicate with the Day Surgery Centre staff across all disciplines, Communicate with supporting services, including Pre-assessment and admission teams.
  3. Communicate with relatives and patients and other team members in a sensitive and caring manner respecting dignity and privacy at alltimes.
  4. Ensure that patient information is recorded correctly.
  5. Work regularly with nurses, HCAs, support staff, medical staff and admin staff.
  6. Attend regular team meetings and keep up to date with changes to policies/procedures within the department.
  7. Accurately take and promptly pass on oral and written messages as appropriate.
  8. Maintain patients dignity and confidentiality.
  9. Ensure that patient information is recorded correctly, address and phone numbers.
  10. Participate with the cleaning of department and equipment between patient visits and at the end of the clinic/day.
  11. Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times in line with the Data Protection Act and Trust policy.
