Diversity and Inclusion Officer inBamber Bridge inBamber Bridge PUBLISHED 18 JUN 2024

You will need to work effectively around new initiatives to reduce duplication and maximise time, but also recognise where tasks may demonstrate a shared outcome or shared approach in working with others.
Would you like to be part of a small, friendly and dynamic team who work in partnership across the region to improve outcomes for our population? Have you experience of overseeing programmes to improve experience for service users or increase staff engagement and wellbeing?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join LSCft’s Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) team as a D&I Officer, a role integral to supporting the delivery of the Trust’s Inclusion & Belonging Programme.

The team’s current priorities includes supporting LSCft in its commitment to developing a culture which is anti-racist and has zero-tolerance to all forms of discrimination, creating a disability positive environment and a system that meets the needs of disabled staff, and addressing population health inequalities and changing how we engage with communities to amplify their voice.

In this role you will be an operational ambassador for creating a positive organisational culture. You will support our teams who are driving priority areas for collaboration and partnership with internal and external partners across Lancashire and South Cumbria.

You will need to work effectively around new initiatives to reduce duplication and maximise time, but also recognise where tasks may demonstrate a shared outcome or shared approach in working with others. You will have excellent administrative skills and an ability to co-ordinate multiple projects.

The D&I Officer will assist the team with coordination of complex administration tasks in connection to the daily function of the D&I portfolio. This will include but not limited to various D&I aligned work streams to deliver on priority objectives, specialist support for staff networks, promotion of D&I initiatives, supporting team with complex queries and/or complaints, delivering training within the D&I training offer, supporting coordination and delivery of bespoke D&I interventions in response to qualitative or quantitative feedback and supporting D&I projects which are hosted by the Trust across the Integrated Care Board.

At times the role will take responsibility for a range of delegated projects and in other instances will support the wider team to achieve the team objectives.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and has the ability to negotiate and influence at all levels. The successful post holder must be a team player with the ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and deliver on agreed deadlines. You will need to have a flexible and adaptable approach to work and welcome change and progression. Knowledge of the policy and legislative context is essential, as is a passion for improving equality and human rights.

This is a hybrid role with 1 day based at LSCFT’s Headquarters but there will also be a requirement to travel to various locations across the wider trust based on the needs of the agenda.

We are committed to promoting equality of opportunity, celebrating and valuing diversity, ensuring our people are truly representative of the communities we serve. We welcome all applications irrespective of people’s race, disability, sex, sexual orientation, religion or belief, age, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity.

When making your application, please use the supporting statement section to demonstrate how you meet the competencies, person specification and the values of LSCft.

This is a full-time post working 37.5 hours per week with occasional evening work to support community engagement activities.

  • Please note - Interviews will be held 10th July 2024, please ensure you are available on this date before applying** For further details / informal visits contact: Name: Joanna Harrison Job title: Diversity & Inclusion Manager Email address: Telephone number:
