Sandwell & West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our successful ward teams.

The post holder will provide high quality care to patients under the supervision of a registered practitioner. They will provide individualised patient care maintaining patient privacy and dignity at all times whilst also respecting any cultural beliefs of the patient. They will carry out a wide range of ward duties and work across all hospital sites meeting the demands of the service.

  • Undertake aspects of basic nursing care and maintenance of the ward/ department, in support of professionally qualified members of the multidisciplinary team ensuring the highest standard of patient/client care.
  • Deliver care under the supervision and direction of qualified members of the team.
  • Recognise, review and report any change to patient’s/client’s condition, including any action taken to appropriately qualified senior members of the team.

Our new acute hospital, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), opens in 2024 and will provide care to our local population from first class, purpose-built premises. As a result, the base of this role may change to MMUH from 2024 (or beyond). The development of the new hospital will play an important role in the regeneration of the wider area and in improving the lives of local people and reducing health inequalities.
