Band Consultant: £105,504 to £139,882 a year per annum  PERMANENT

We are looking to appoint to a whole time Consultant Radiologist with an interest in Gastrointestinal Imaging within the Medical Imaging and Medical Physics Directorate of the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based at the Northern General and Royal Hallamshire Hospitals.

We would welcome applications from candidates across the full spectrum of experience, from those who have recently completed training to those who have well-established careers.

Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.

The appointee will, together with consultant colleagues, be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive diagnostic gastrointestinal radiology services to the Trust. The candidate should be proficient at reporting a range of GI cross sectional imaging including acute abdominal/pelvic CT, oncology follow up CT scans, CTC, liver MRI, small bowel MRI, pelvic MRI and an a range of acute general CT scans such as trauma studies, CT head and CTPA. The candidate should be able to independently perform a wide range of GI fluoroscopy, abdominal ultrasound and ultrasound/CT guided procedures. Participation is required in clinical radiological conferences, together with other colleagues.

The successful candidate will work flexibly and co-operatively with other members of the team in order to provide a high quality, comprehensive emergency radiology service within this teaching hospital environment.
