The Peer Support Worker role at the East London NHS Foundation Trust focuses on delivering community-based mental healthcare inspired by the Trieste model from Italy. This innovative pilot project aims to create an accessible, culturally sensitive, and nonrestrictive care environment for residents of Tower Hamlets. The position involves providing individual peer support through a drop-in service, developing various support groups based on community needs, and engaging in continuous training to enhance counseling and peer support skills.

Candidates who reflect the local community, especially from the Bangladeshi and Somali backgrounds, are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful individual will contribute to a philosophy of mental health that prioritizes flexibility and responsiveness to service users' needs while actively participating in supervision and team meetings. The role seeks compassionate individuals who embody the Trust's values of care, respect, and inclusivity in their interactions with service users and colleagues.
