The Peer Support Lead role at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board involves overseeing and advancing peer support initiatives within the Mental Health & Learning Disabilities Division, specifically during a 12-month maternity cover period. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in peer support work and will be responsible for developing a peer support strategy that aligns with current frameworks while fostering partnerships with other agencies. Key responsibilities include leading the Peer Support Development Team, delivering training, ensuring the provision of effective peer services to those with complex mental health needs, and advocating for the importance of peer support within the Health Board.

Candidates must have lived experience of mental health challenges or learning disabilities and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with vulnerable individuals. The position promotes collaborative working and consistency in service delivery across the division, while offering a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive work environment within a well-regarded NHS organisation. The role is designed for full-time flexible working, and knowledge of the Welsh language is desirable but not mandatory.
