Healthy Homes Community Worker
Fixed Term Contract until 31 st March 2026
About The Role
This is an exciting time to join Wirral’s Healthy Homes Team as we have recently been awarded funding to be part of a national pathfinder project to address damp and mould in the home.
We are looking for someone who has excellent interpersonal skills to engage hard to reach residents in their homes or community settings and a passion to both improve poor housing conditions and their health outcomes.
About The Candidate
You will have well developed customer care skills, a sound practical knowledge of a wide range of support providers as well as a natural ability to empathize and communicate well with sometimes very vulnerable individuals about promoting their health and well-being.
You will meet clients face to face through door knocking exercises, drop-ins, community forums and events and will be able to signpost to relevant support agencies including the voluntary sector, charities, public sector bodies and private companies to improve both housing conditions and health outcomes
While previous experience working in the housing field is desirable, more important is your willingness to learn new areas of work relating to housing standards and disrepair, and an ability to apply to knowledge of the wider determinants of health and wellbeing so that outcomes can be improved for individuals.
This is a fixed term post until 31st March 2026 with an ability to extend further subject to funding.
Interviews to be held week commencing 3 rd February 2025.
