An exciting opportunity for a temporary Band 6 dietitian to cover a maternity leave. The post is 0.57wte for one year. This could be a secondment opportunity for the right person to join a friendly and enthusiastic community care home dietetic team managed by the Advanced practice care home Dietitian based in the south quadrant of NHS GG&C.
To be a Specialist Dietitian for the Nutrition and Dietetic Service in care homes Service across agreed localities within the boundaries of NHSGGC Community Dietetic Service, reporting to the Team Leader.
- In the planning, organising and delivery of an evidence based Dietetic Service to patients and carers, medical, nursing and AHP staff based on National and local priorities
- To be a clinical expert providing a specialist dietetic clinical service, advice and support to patients and professionals on the management of malnutrition, dysphagia and enteral feeding.
- In the supervision, teaching and mentoring of dietitians, student dietitians and dietetic and / or health care support workers and clerical staff on nutritional management of patients within a care home setting.
- In the planning, organising and delivery of nutrition education and training relating to malnutrition and MUST, dysphagia management, first line interventions and clinical management of patients on enteral feeding for health care professionals, care home staff, students and other agencies.
- Contribute to the further development of the Nutrition and Dietetic Service across NHSGGC.
