A Healthcare Assistant position is available in a renowned mental health hospital in South West London, operated by a leading healthcare provider in the UK. The role involves supporting residents with daily activities, personal care, and emotional well-being, alongside assisting with medical appointments and monitoring health needs. This is one of the countrys leading mental health treatment centres. They provide fast access to high quality treatment for lots of different conditions, including addictions, depression, anxiety, stress and eating disorders

As The Healthcare Assistant Your Key Duties Include

Support our residents with in:house activities and hobbies
Providing support to achieve every day goals including personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and toileting
Manage some behaviours that challenge
Assistant and support to attend medical appointments
Observe, monitor and record physical and emotional well:being, and promptly report any changes to senior staff
Provide emotional support to individuals and their families
Support and monitor healthcare needs, including administering medication and temperature checks
Understand communication needs and adapt your communication to each individual
Work with other professionals, such as nurses and therapists, to ensure consistency of support
Analyse an individuals needs and draw up a focused support plan

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:

Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature
Empathy, understanding and patience
Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
Ability to understand and follow policies and procedure
The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges
Competent in verbal and written English
Previous experience as a HCA or SW in a similar service line
