  • Position: Band 2 Phlebotomist

  • Hours: 35 hours per week

  • Department: Phlebotomy within Cancer and Clinical Services Division

  • Responsibilities:

  • Obtain blood samples through venepuncture from patients in various settings (wards, outpatient clinics, homes).

  • Work as part of a team and train other healthcare workers in blood collection techniques.

  • Flexible shift patterns required, including weekend and bank holiday work.

  • Qualifications:

  • Essential: Good general education in Maths and English.

  • Desirable: Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQs in healthcare).

  • Experience:

  • Essential: Teamwork in a busy environment.

  • Desirable: Previous phlebotomy or hospital laboratory experience.

  • Additional Requirements:

  • Must hold a valid driving license and have access to a vehicle (for travel to GP surgeries and community clinics).

  • Basic computer skills and customer care abilities preferred.

  • Salary: £28,166 per annum (including High Cost Area Supplement Outer London).

  • Location: Trust-wide, with primary service in Carshalton/Epsom.
