The role of Doctors Assistant in the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) at Eastbourne Hospital involves supporting doctors by taking on routine tasks that can be delegated, such as conducting clinical procedures, managing paperwork, filing results, and communicating with patients and their families. This Band 3 position is aimed at individuals with a Healthcare Assistant background who are motivated, adaptable, and possess strong writing, computer, and communication skills. The goal is to alleviate the increasing workload on junior doctors, thereby allowing them to focus on more complex patient care.
