The Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Deputy Chief Operating Officer (Deputy COO) to lead daily operations and support the Chief Operating Officer. This role involves overseeing key performance and quality standards in areas such as emergency department services, cancer care, diagnostics, and elective procedures, while also implementing strategic changes in collaboration with divisional teams to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include service and business planning, performance management, corporate governance, and emergency planning.

The Deputy Chief Operating Officer (Deputy COO) deputises for the Chief Operating Officer across the operations portfolio and provides leadership of Trust operations on a daily basis working closely with triumvirate teams and executives.
They will lead on delivery of the Trust’s core performance and quality standards related to ED, cancer, diagnostics and elective care including recovery. They will also lead key strategic changes to how HDFT delivers care in partnership with Divisional Teams in areas such as ED, patient flow and theatre productivity.
The main duties of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Leadership

- Budgetary, Performance and Resource Management
