The Pathway Service are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic practitioner to work with care experienced young people as a personal advisor.
This role is crucial in supporting young people between the ages of 17 and 25 years old as they navigate their transition to independence and beyond.
You will be a skilled and motivated practitioner who is committed to supporting care experienced young people in all circumstances.
You will need to have excellent communication skills, a high level of computer skills, good organisation, be responsive to challenging situations and flexible to the needs of the service.
You will value placing effective relationships at the centre of what you do and be able to communicate effectively with young people, social work colleagues, foster carers and families. Effective collaborative working and maintaining a person centred approach is essential.
You will be required to maintain accurate and up to date case records, review Pathway Plans within statutory timescales and attend relevant meetings.
You will be required to visit young people in a variety of settings in York and locations out of area.
You will work closely within the team, provide duty cover and be responsible for a case load of young people. You will support the team to maintain and develop positive practice and strengthen the service in all areas.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
