Job Summary: Medical Secretary B4 - NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Glasgow
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking an experienced Medical Secretary for the OMFS department at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. This is a fixed-term, full-time position (Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00) for 12 months.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Acting as the first point of contact for patients and staff.
  • Performing audio typing and various administrative duties within a large service.
  • Utilizing IT systems and proficiently managing Microsoft Office applications.
Requirements:
  • Recognized qualification in secretarial studies or equivalent experience.
  • At least one year of audio typing experience or demonstrated advanced keyboard skills.
  • Good knowledge of clinical software systems and strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Freedom of Information, Caldicott Guidelines, and General Data Protection Regulations.
The position offers on-the-job training, a comprehensive induction, and development opportunities. NHS Scotland will transition to a 37-hour work week starting April 2024, but candidates may initially work slightly longer.
