The shift pattern is Mon-Fri 09:00 17:00 (45min Lunch) This is a Fixed term post for 12 months An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven medical secretary to join the OMFS department based in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The preferred candidate will be the first point of contact for patient and staff. They will complete audio typing and administrative duties within a large service. You must have a recognised qualification in secretarial studies or equivalent experience. You will be proficient in the use of IT systems, Microsoft Office Packages along with a minimum of one year’s audio typing experience or proven advanced keyboard skills from previous roles. It is essential that the post holder has a good working knowledge of clinical software systems, excellent organisation and communication skills. They should also have a good understanding of Freedom of Information, Caldicott Guidelines and General Data Protection Regulations. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
