The role of Senior Healthcare Assistant (OPD) at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust in Haywards Heath involves providing support within the ophthalmology outpatient department, primarily under the guidance of staff nurses and the sister. Key responsibilities include setting up clinics, conducting visual acuity tests, measuring intraocular pressure, and assisting with minor ophthalmic procedures and intra-vitreal injections. The post-holder will also monitor vital signs, assist with patient hygiene and mobility, manage appointments, and ensure adherence to infection control protocols.
