The University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Healthcare Support Worker/Scope and Porter for their Endoscopy team in Bournemouth. The role involves providing high-quality care to patients throughout the entire endoscopy process, including pre, peri, and post-procedural stages. Key responsibilities include collaborating with a dynamic team of healthcare professionals, maintaining confidentiality, and demonstrating effective communication skills. Candidates should ideally have at least 12 months of experience in an acute healthcare setting, although endoscopy experience is not essential, as training will be provided.
The position is flexible, requiring a willingness to work across multiple hospital sites in Poole and Wimborne, as well as participate in an on-call service during weekends and bank holidays. Candidates must exhibit a strong commitment to patient-centered care, personal development, and possess necessary qualifications, including the NVQ 3 or equivalent. Whilst previous endoscopy experience may be advantageous it is not essential as we provide training and competency assessment.
The post holder will have an important role in this large and dynamic team that includes a team of Nurse Endoscopists, Gastroenterology Consultants, Colorectal/Upper Surgical Consultants, a number of senior doctors and a large nursing and HCSW team
You will need to be flexible to work a range of shifts
Based at: Bournemouth Hospital (This post requires frequent cross-site working across Poole and Wimborne Hospital sites)
You will be require to be part of the on call service which run on : Weekends and Bank Holidays
