About The Role
This post is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacy technician looking to specialise or advance in cancer care. You will:
- Work with the pharmacy team in patient- facing roles supporting the completion of medication histories and reconciliation, facilitating discharges and providing specialist patient counselling within the inpatient setting.
- Use your skills and knowledge to improve patient care and promote optimal outcomes from medicines whilst minimising risk and resource utilisation.
- Undertake leadership responsibilities including deputising for the lead clinical technician and mentorship of junior pharmacy technicians and support workers.
- Work as part of the day-case and outpatient team within in the ECC Satellite Dispensary.

- Within a multidisciplinary team that has recognised the positive impact of having pharmacy technicians in patient-facing roles and fully support its progression.
- On service development projects aimed at improving patient care and modernising service delivery.
- On a wide variety of clinical experiences, supported by robust training and development opportunities.
We’re looking for someone with:
- General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) registration
- National Certificate in Pharmacy Services
- Scottish Vocational Qualification Level 3 in Pharmacy Services
- HN unit: Procedures for Pharmacy Dispensary Checking Technicians or Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician Award (provided by Buttercups or NPA, 2or before)
- HNC Pharmacy Services Development and Management or equivalent
