We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic senior operational leader, who has a passion for excellence, patient-centred care and a desire to make a difference.

We are recruiting to the role of Associate Chief Operating Officer to lead our Medicine Care Group, which is one of our large and complex groupings of clinical services. The Medicine portfolio includes acute medicine, frailty medicine and a number of medical specialties, including gastroenterology, respiratory medicine and cardiology. The Care Group provides services across the two main hospital sites and multiple community sites.

You will have the ability to engage and motivate teams, be a multi-tasker with problem-solving skills, you will have the ability to manage numerous projects running simultaneously, as well as juggling the priorities of internal and external stakeholders.

You will be able to demonstrate your ability to quickly and effectively manage and resolve challenging operational issues in a pressurised and time-critical environment, whilst driving our strategic agenda forward. Engagement with clinical teams and stakeholders will be vital to identify transformation opportunities and to deliver improvements in quality, operational and financial performance standards.

Reporting to the Care Group Director, and working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, you will provide key strategic and operational leadership within the Care Group, working to develop a culture that enables clinical colleagues to flourish and provide the highest standards of care for patients.

We are looking for a leader who is values-based, forward-thinking, has vision and can inspire teams. You will have a proven track record in operational and service management; service delivery and improvement; with well-developed leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

You will also have joint responsibility with the other Associate Chief Operating Officers and Executive Team, for driving forward corporate and programmes of work cross-cutting the whole Trust.
