The Vale of Glamorgan Council is seeking a Childcare Worker for its Flying Start Programme in Barry, aimed at providing intensive support for families with children aged 0-3 years. The role entails delivering high-quality childcare, promoting the development of children's language, cognitive, social, and emotional skills, alongside physical development and early identification of needs. Candidates should possess experience in working with young children and their families, competence in planning and organizing play activities, and a solid understanding of childcare regulations. An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Children's Care, Learning, and Development is mandatory, along with the ability to communicate in Welsh.

The position is part-time, offering 18.5 hours per week during term time (39 weeks), with pay set at Grade 4, SCP 5-7, ranging from £24,790 to £25,584 per annum, pro rata. This temporary role is funded until March 2025. Applicants must be flexible and sensitive to children's individual needs, demonstrating motivation and enthusiasm for working with families in the community. An enhanced DBS check is required for the role.
