Main duties of the job
- Manage Pharmacy Medicines Management Service: Oversee the service at Nevill Hall Hospital (NHH) and North Gwent Community Hospitals, ensuring adherence to SOPs and safe systems of work.
- Staff Management: Supervise Medicines Management staff, including appraisals, sickness absence management, recruitment, and performance reviews.
- Service Improvement: Implement modernisation strategies and lead service improvement projects at NHH.
- Training and Education: Support and deliver training programmes, ensuring compliance with statutory, professional, and regulatory requirements.
- Quality Management: Contribute to MHRA Wholesale Distribution Authorisation (WDA (H)) roles and develop, implement, and review SOPs.
- Dispensary and Medicines Management Lead: Organise and manage the clinical and technical service of the dispensary, ensuring efficient and timely supply of medicines.
- Patient Services: Provide accurate dispensing and distribution of pharmaceuticals, manage patient medication reconciliation, and support discharge processes.
- Communication: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including staff, patients, and healthcare professionals, to ensure effective service delivery.
These duties encompass a broad range of managerial, clinical, and technical responsibilities aimed at delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care and continuous service improvement.
While the ability to speak Welsh is desirable, both Welsh and English speakers are welcome to apply.
