The Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME Service provides multi-disciplinary specialist assessment and interventions for adults with ME/ chronic fatigue syndrome and post covid fatigue.
You will be using highly specialist skills to undertake a major role in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients with ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and post covid fatigue who may have
diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions.
The post holder will provide assessment, individual and group interventions. Intervention may include face to face, telephone and video consultations, and occasional domiciliary visits.
Confirm clinical diagnosis, plan and deliver the treatment indicated.
Accept clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patients within The Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME service.
Work as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), to provide advice and deliver a holistic patient centred approach to care. This is achieved through advanced communication skills, joint working and an advanced understanding of the role of other members of the MDT.
Undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
Provide spontaneous and planned advice, teaching and instruction to patients, relatives, carers and other professionals, in relation to chronic fatigue syndrome/ME, and to ensure a consistent approach to patient care.
When appropriate, communicate complex assessment and treatment results within the multi disciplinary team and to other appropriate disciplines. This may be in the form of informative
verbal and written reports and discharge summaries to other agencies, for example, consultants and other AHPs and support more junior staff to do likewise.
Participate in the wider responsibilities of the Specialist Rehabilitation department including the duty phone cover on a rota basis.
To participate in the triaging of the referrals the service receives.
