This role offers you the opportunity to join NUH as a Trust Grade doctor in Plastic Surgery for 4 months; with the potential to extend for a further by mutual agreement. You will join as a CT grade doctor working within Plastic Surgery. To be considered for a CT position a completed 2024 CREST form must be submitted to the recruitment team as evidence that F2 competencies completed.
This posts provide ideal opportunities for you if you wish to gain more experience & exposure in Plastic Surgery prior to an application to a national training programme. If you are an International Medical Graduate (IMG) Doctor or starting a new role in the NHS with no UK experience, additional support has been put in place to support your smooth transition. This includes a bespoke induction, a shadowing and supernumerary period, ranging from 4-6 weeks (dependant on experience) paid at basic salary. The workshops within the IMG induction will include a Safe E-Prescribing and a practical clinical skills course for you. The main induction days cover: History of the NHS, developing portfolios, Intro to UK practice (GMC), Chaplaincy, Legal requirements after death, Freedom to speak up, People Inclusion Team (PINC), Sepsis and NEWS2 and Breaking bad news. External speakers from the British Medical Association (BMA) and the Medical Defence Union (MDU) are also in attendance. The trust also offers Pastoral support in the form of a Pastoral welcome induction day delivered by a dedicated team and ongoing pastoral support as and when required to help you to settle into life here in Nottingham.
