The Adult Safeguarding Administrator at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust will play a crucial role in supporting the Safeguarding Adults Team at the Southport Hospital site. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative services, including processing Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) applications, taking minutes at meetings, and managing data collection. The position requires excellent communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders, including external organisations and internal staff, while maintaining high standards of confidentiality and flexibility.
In addition to administrative responsibilities, the role includes maintaining accurate databases, preparing correspondence, and contributing data for audits and reports related to safeguarding. The administrator will support the delivery of efficient services while prioritizing patient safety and may be required to provide cross-cover support for other administrative personnel in safeguarding. Clinical & Professional Responsibilities
To receive sometimes complex and highly sensitive communications on behalf of the Adults Safeguarding Team and be able to advice, prioritise and share information appropriately.
To attend team and departmental meetings as necessary.
To always work in a flexible way to enable delivery of the services.
To undertake any other routine duties that may be required and are appropriate to the post holders band, experience, and competence.
Administrative Responsibilities
To provide a comprehensive administrative service to the Adults Safeguarding Team and Associate Director of Safeguarding.
To maintain the administration of the services, including maintaining databases, data input, ensuring all data held is accurate and kept up to date.
Confident use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other IT programmes as required.
To be responsible for processing the daily Deprivation of Liberty Authorisations and maintaining the relevant databases.
Retrieve patient information as directed by the Safeguarding Team to support information sharing as required with the Local Authority and partners.
To prepare letters, e-mails, and general communications.
To prepare and distribute agendas for meeting, take minutes of meeting, distribute minutes and other papers.
To receive communication in relation to Trust meetings attended by the above leads.
To assist in the development of policies and protocols relevant to the services.
Provide data for the quarterly and annual returns for local Safeguarding Adult Boards, the Integrated Care Board, and the Care Quality Commission.
Teaching & Training Responsibilities
To support the team in working towards the most cost-effective service always prioritising patient safety.
RESEARCH & AUDIT
To provide data that contributes to the Safeguarding audits.
