The University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking dedicated Healthcare Support Workers to join their Children's Unit in Poole. This role involves assisting Registered Nurses in providing care to babies, children, and young people, and their families across various areas, including inpatient wards, outpatient services, and emergency departments. Ideal candidates will possess effective communication skills, a caring approach, and preferably experience in a hospital or child care setting. The position requires flexibility to work 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.

Candidates must have at least an NVQ Level 2 in Care or be willing to pursue it, while holding a Care Certificate is desirable for starting at Band 3; otherwise, Band 2 is applicable until competencies are met. The position emphasises high-quality patient care, maintaining dignity and respect, and ensuring a clean and tidy environment for young patients. The service is expected to relocate to Bournemouth Hospital in November 2025, so applicants should be prepared for changes in work location and related travel arrangements.
