Job Summary for Central Registry Clerk at RAF Northolt, London

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a Central Registry Clerk to join the team at RAF Northolt. The role involves managing and supervising the Central Registry and Post Room operations, which includes handling postal services and mail management efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Sort and manage inbound and outbound mail, ensuring secure handling of classified materials.
  • Maintain security and recording procedures for registered mail and parcels.
  • Oversight of mail dispatch methods, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to guidelines.
  • Maintain the Paper Asset Register and stock supplies of forms and stationery.
  • Supervise the opening and distribution of official mail and manage the use of office equipment like printers and franking machines.
  • Prepare and distribute invoices and monthly accounts for postage charges.


Person Specification:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in IT, particularly MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required.


Work Schedule:

  • The position is for 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday (8 AM to 4 PM), and Friday (8 AM to 3 PM).
