The role of Pharmacy Dispenser/Trainee Pharmacy Dispenser at Right Medicine Pharmacy in Winchburgh, Broxburn, involves supporting the Pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications, providing excellent patient care and service to the local community. The position requires attention to detail, organisation, and a friendly demeanor, as you will be collaborating with Pharmacy team members to label, endorse, and prepare prescriptions, manage daily and weekly medication orders, and engage directly with patients.
Candidates with prior pharmacy experience are preferred, but applications from those interested in entering the pharmacy field are also welcome. The position includes formal training and development opportunities, including the Accredited Checking Dispenser Course for qualified Pharmacy Dispensers. As a Pharmacy Dispenser you will assist the Pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of our patients medications. We are looking for someone who is accurate in their approach and able to provide exceptional service all round.

As a Right Medicine Pharmacy Dispenser, you’ll work as part of the Pharmacy team along with Pharmacy Assistants, Technicians and the Pharmacist to provide the Right care for our patients and customers. The role will involve assisting the Pharmacist and Technicians in the labelling, endorsing, ordering and preparation of all types of prescriptions and medicine orders, co-ordinating daily and weekly prescriptions ensuring where necessary, scripts are re-ordered and all items are made up in advance ready for collection or delivery, dealing directly with patients in obtaining medical information and dispensing prescriptions along with any other duties essential to the smooth operation of the Pharmacy.
About You?
We are ideally looking for someone who has Pharmacy experience in dispensing of medication via the formal pharmacy training route however, this is not essential and applications are welcome from those looking to progress into a role within Pharmacy.
This role is one that will require a number of formal training programmes that require completion both in working hours, but also sometime outside of working hours.
If you are a currently trained Pharmacy Dispenser then we have the next stage of your pharmacy journey covered via the Accredited Checking Dispenser Course. This will take you to a new level in your journey.
You should have the ability to work in a busy, fast paced healthcare environment, be reliable, have excellent customer service skills along with a friendly personality that our patients can trust!
