The South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Consultant Practitioner Psychologist / Psychological Therapist to lead a significant project focused on implementing trauma-informed approaches (TIA) within adult acute inpatient wards. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy aimed at enhancing clinical care, staff support, and community trust among wards across four boroughs. The successful candidate will oversee a small team, engage with diverse stakeholders, and champion anti-racism initiatives while fostering a trauma-informed culture. The position offers flexible working hours and is situated within a supportive team environment dedicated to psychological governance and leadership.

Candidates should possess extensive experience in treating adults with severe mental health issues and demonstrate a deep understanding of trauma-informed care principles. Leadership skills are essential, as the role requires consultation services, strategic planning, and the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders, including service users, peer workers, and various professional leads. The Consultant Psychologist will also support the implementation and enhancement of TIA practices, ensuring they align with established research and best practices across the UK.
