This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post. As part of the Scottish Liver Transplant Team the post holder will provide expert professional and clinical care advice to patients, carers and the multi-disciplinary team. They will participate in providing specialist education for health care professionals and other professional groups, regarding all aspects of liver transplantation process. Supported by the transplant coordinators they will promote awareness and disseminate information amongst health care professionals, the general public, and the media regarding the need for organs for transplantation. They will be expected to support research projects ensuring evidence-based practice in the specialist area and to motivate staff to provide high standards of care by acting as a role model.
