The Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Postgraduate Lead for Medical and Dental Education, mainly based at the Royal London Hospital Education Academy, with some travel to other sites required. The successful candidate will oversee the effective delivery and quality assurance of postgraduate medical and dental education and training across the Trust, managing over 1,116 placements. This role involves collaboration with the Trust Deans and other faculty members to ensure educational contracts are fulfilled, regulatory compliance is met, and best practices are shared across all Barts Health locations.

The Barts Health Education Academy is looking for a committed individual to join the Medical Education Team working as Postgraduate Lead for Medical and Dental Education.
Proposed interview date: 23rd January 2025
The Medical Education team work closely with the Trust Deans, Directors of Medical and Dental Education, Associate Deans and other members of the faculty to deliver Undergraduate & Postgraduate medical and dental education across the Barts Health hospitals, ensuring educational contracts are delivered and the required standards are met.
The Medical and Dental Education team provides a cohesive trust-wide service whilst retaining site-based support across all Barts Health sites. The team will be expected to work collaboratively and pool resources and skills to ensure good practice and knowledge are shared, as required.
The post holder is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery and quality assurance of postgraduate medical and dental, education and training across the Trust in accordance with the NHS Education Contract with NHS England. This includes over 1,1168 placements for postgraduate medical and dental doctors in training. The post holder is required to meet regulatory compliance and Trust standards in ensuring the effective delivery, evaluation and quality assurance of a portfolio of high quality medical and dental education and training for our doctors and dentists in training.
