NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a motivated Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) for the Ophthalmology Outpatient Department at Gartnavel General Hospital. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team, providing essential support to the registered nursing staff and assisting with various patient care needs in a busy clinical environment. While prior experience in HCSW roles is desirable, it is not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, a flexible mindset, and a genuine interest in ophthalmology.
This position requires the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment, as shifts will be scheduled from Monday to Saturday. NHS Scotland is also implementing a reduction of the full-time working week to 37 hours, effective from April 2024, with corresponding adjustments for part-time roles. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic HCSW based in the Ophthalmology outpatient department of Gartnavel General Hospital. The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of the Ophthalmology team, supporting the registered nursing team and be involved in all care needs within the outpatient department. You will be required to work within a busy clinical areas working collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team. HSCW experience is desirable not essential as full training will be given. You are required to be flexible, forward thinking and able to work effectively within changing and dynamic environment. You should have excellent communication with an eagerness to learn.
