The Leeds Clinical Research Facility is recruiting!
Research and Innovation Department is continuing its exciting expansion. We have several research specialities and the LTHT research portfolio is looking for a Ward Clerk.
It is a full time (1.0 WTE), with a permanent contract. This post will be based at Leeds Clinical Research Facility, Bexley Wing, St James University Hospital.
The post holder will contribute actively to the conduct, coordination, and delivery of the Early Phase Research Portfolio. The main tasks are: Co ordinating patient attendance and discharge, communicating with both patients and members of staff, supporting the nursing team with administrative tasks. In addition of being responsible for ensuring that high standards and patient satisfaction are maintained to a very high standard in compliance with Trust policy.
The successful candidate will be involved in ensuring that research undertaken within the department safeguards the wellbeing of patients and is conducted within the confines of ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines for Research, EU directive, UK Governance Framework and other relevant UK legislation pertaining to the conduct and delivery of research.
Main duties of the job
To undertake administrative duties at department level including the accurate and timely recording of staff and patient activity data on Trust systems.
To undertake clerical and related duties in the department, in line with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), to enable the Clinical Trials Team to concentrate more freely on direct patient care. This will involve considerable liaison with other departments, wards and outside organisations on behalf of the department staff.
The jobholder will contribute to the maintenance of an environment for effective care.
We are looking to recruit a proactive and self-motivated, individual with experience of the Ward Clerk role, and a keen interest in research to work within the Leeds Clinical Research team.
The post-holder will work closely with patients, senior colleagues and members of the MDT to deliver high quality clinical care to patients during their attendance to the facility.
